Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Purchasing recommend the appropriation of $12,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Federal Forfeiture Fund for use by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office in providing funds for the Prosecuting Attorney's ongoing needs for the furnishing of On-Line Legal Publications and Legal Research Services for 2005 Westlaw legal research services; and,

WHEREAS, the County Counselor and the Department of Corrections also have a need for the same Westlaw legal research services; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has an existing contract for such services with West Group of Carol Stream, IL; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 1040.1 and 1063. of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing has determined that the services to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing recommends the award a 12 month Term and Supply Contract for the furnishing of On-Line Legal Publications and Legal Research Services to West Group of Carol Stream, IL for use by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Co...
