Body
WHEREAS, in July 2003, the County submitted an application to the National Association of Counties (NACO) to serve as host to NACO's 2008 annual conference and exposition; and,
WHEREAS, NACO has recently announced that is has approved the County's application and that the County will host this event, in the City of Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate that both the County and NACO reach an agreement as to the responsibilities of each party for the planning and conducting of this event, in the areas of funding, staffing, and resourcing; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) satisfactorily outlines these responsibilities; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of the attached MOU with NACO is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the National Association of Counties.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
