RESOLUTION # 13324 , August 28, 2000

INTRODUCED BY Terry Young, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, at the age of 74, Jack Sigler is a stroke survivor of seven years, and,

WHEREAS, he meets the challenges of having had a stroke through hard work and a positive mental attitude, and,

WHEREAS, an avid fisherman before his stroke, Jack has taught himself how to fish again, and,

WHEREAS, Jack attends a weekly therapeutic swim class, where he is teaching a recent stroke victim how to walk again by using the pool, and,

WHEREAS, Jack visits stroke victims for the American Heart Association, the First United Methodist Church in Blue Springs, and others on his own, and,

WHEREAS, Jack shares with stroke victims sharing his message, "There is life after stroke," on a weekly basis, and,

WHEREAS, Jack Sigler has visited and aided 85 stroke survivors in the last few years, now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature commends Jack Sigler on his compassion and caring for others, and wishes him continued success in reaching other stroke survivors with his message.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
