Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Allegiant Telecom (formerly known as Ronan Communications, Inc.) of Lenexa, KS, for the furnishing of maintenance and miscellaneous telephone repair services for the Parks and Recreation Department's Telrad phone system; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Allegiant Telecom of Lenexa, KS, is the only known local factory-authorized supplier of maintenance and repair services on the Telrad phone system installed at the Parks and Recreation Department; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are c...
