Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 15330, dated January 3, 2005, the County and City of Independence did adopt 39th Street and Noland Road as new County Urban Road System (CURS) priorities within the City of Independence; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2836, Jackson County Code, 1984, the City of Independence, MO, has requested the use of its CURS funds in the amount of $410,529.14 to cover the cost of various road projects, including 39th Street and Noland Road; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends approval of the request; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature finds that the various road projects by the City will benefit the citizens of Independence and the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that, pursuant to Chapter 28, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to issue a check in the amount of $410,529.14 as a lump-sum payment to the City of Independence for use by the City on various road projects.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
