Body
WHEREAS, it was with great sorrow to family and friends to learn of the death of T. Michael "Mike" Lillis; and,

WHEREAS, Mike was the Assistant Athletic Director at Rockhurst High School, where he was affectionately known as "Mr. Rockhurst;" and,

WHEREAS, he graduated from Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst College, and had in the past served as president of the Rockhurst High School Alumni Association; and,

WHEREAS, Mike spent countless hours of his time serving his church and community in various capacities including chairman of the Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities and chairman of the Bishop's Committee for Disabilities, committee member of The Whole Person, thirty-year commissioner of Kansas City Parochial League, member of Redemptorist Center, and member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society; and,

WHEREAS, from January 19, 1985, to August 17, 1990, Mike worked as a registration specialist for the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department, where he was well liked and respected by his co-workers; and,

WHEREAS, his friendly nature and superb customer service skills were invaluable as he always greeted the public with humor and a smile, leaving them with a good feeling about the Department; and,

WHEREAS, Mike will be missed by those who knew and loved him, and will be remembered fondly for his true compassion for people and good sense of humor; and,

WHEREAS, Mike is survived by his loving wife, Janet, and by his sons, Tim and John, and daughters, Carol, Sheila, and Cathleen; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby extends its ...
