Body
WHEREAS, it was with great sorrow to family and friends to learn of the death of Melvin Lee Denmon; and,

WHEREAS, Melvin was born to Lucille Moore-Denmon and Marion C. Demon, Jr. on October 16, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, at the age of six years and while attending St. Stephen Baptist Church, Melvin was baptized under the pastorate of Dr. John W. Williams; and,

WHEREAS, Melvin later joined the Palestine Baptist Church and upon marrying, attended the Greater Corinthian Baptist Church; and,

WHEREAS, Melvin received his early education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, and obtained his higher education from Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas; and,

WHEREAS, Melvin was heavily involved in working with troubled youth; and,

WHEREAS, in his passionate crusade to help these youth, Melvin coordinated youth sports tournaments, served as program director in many events concerning youth, and participated in AMERICORP; and,

WHEREAS, Melvin also served as coordinator and participant in the Million Man March and was last employed by Drive By Agony of Lynnwood, California; and,

WHEREAS, Melvin is survived by his wife Marlayne, son and daughter Matiias and M'Kaylah, parents Lucille E. Moore-Denmon (Jackson County Information Desk Receptionist) and Marion C. Denmon, sister and brother-in-law Loretta and Jerry Petty, sister and brother-in-law Lelia and Collin Dietiker, father and mother-in-law Charles and Melba Myers, nephews Antoine LaMont Nance and Darris Pouncil, nieces Estella Nicole Pace, DeAndra Boyd, and Amaris Washington, and other family members; and,
