Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17258, dated April 19, 2010, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an Agreement with Local Union No. 42 of the International Association of Fire Fighters as the bargaining representative for certain assistant prosecuting attorneys within the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and the Union's bargaining unit ratified the Agreement; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive and the Prosecuting Attorney recommend an amendment to that Agreement for 2011, as part of a negotiated agreement; and,

WHEREAS, the proposed amendment will change the date that performance-based pay increases for fiscal year 2011 will be implemented, retroactive to January 1, 2011, as opposed to July 1, 2011, as provided in the original agreement; and,

WHEREAS, in support of implementation of a compensation study undertaken in 2011, pursuant to article XVIII, section 7 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the County and Local 42, Appendix A of the Agreement will be amended to adjust the minimum and maximum steps so that an employee coming in at step one will be moved to step two and then afforded his or her performance-based increase; and,

WHEREAS, the approval of this Amendment to the Agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
