Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to RFP 119-01, the Director of Purchasing did solicit proposals for the furnishing of leased office space in the Independence Square area of the City of Independence for use by the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners; and,
WHEREAS, he received only one response to this RFP; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature is committed to securing a new location for the election board but has determined that it is not in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the County's citizens to award a lease based on that response; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature is interested in considering proposals from property owners, commercial real estate companies, and others who have suitable commercial property for sale or lease anywhere within the corporate limits of Independence, as a possible future location for the election board; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby requests the Director of Purchasing to solicit proposals for the sale or lease of suitable commercial property located anywhere within the corporate boundaries of the City of Independence, for use as the future location of the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
