Body
WHEREAS, Women's History Month recognizes the leadership, accomplishments, and impact of women who strengthen their communities; and,
WHEREAS, Estella Morales was born in Iola, Kansas, to a father who migrated from Mexico and a mother who was born in Kansas; and,
WHEREAS, Estella has been involved with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City since the late 1980s, serving as a City Hall liaison and later being elected to the board; and,
WHEREAS, she has a strong dedication to uplifting Kansas City's Hispanic community-from launching programs like KC BizFest and Latinos of Tomorrow, to connecting chambers and championing nonprofits like Impact 100 partner, Mattie Rhodes Center; and,
WHEREAS, she is very active in her faith and community, serving as a proud member of the Catholic community at her church, The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Kansas City, St. Joseph Catholic Diocese; and,
WHEREAS, she has been a strong advocate for Hispanic community leaders and for empowering all women leaders; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature congratulates Estella Morales on her accomplishments during Women's Month.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
