RESOLUTION NO. 22264, May 11, 2026

Body
WHEREAS, after receiving her Bachelor's Degree from Bethel College in Tennessee, Virgina Robbins began her career in public education in 1958 and went on to receive her Master's Degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg; and,

WHEREAS, Virginia married Maxton Brown Robbins in 1958 with whom she shared two children, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; and,

WHEREAS, Mrs. Robbins devoted over 30 years to the Blue Springs School District, where her passion for cultural arts came alive through hosting hundreds of plays, concerts and productions with her students; and,

WHEREAS, Mrs. Robbins' numerous memberships included the Missouri State Teachers Association as well as the Missouri Retired Teachers Organization where she had a hands-on role in reviewing applications for grants, fundraising for scholarships, and testifying in Jefferson City for the protection of teachers' retirement funds; and,

WHEREAS, Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 69 years, receiving the honor of Grand Organist for the State of Missouri in 2015; and,

WHEREAS, Mrs. Robbins held a membership with the Missouri Federation of Republican Women for over 25 years; and,

WHEREAS, Mrs. Robbins was a founding member of Jackson County's High Noon Republican Women in 2007, where she maintained a leadership role and coordinated event planning; and,

WHEREAS, as a devout Christian, Mrs. Robbins played the piano and organ for thousands of worship services beginning at the age of 16; and,

WHEREAS, Mrs. Robbins continued her volunteer work in the church by directing various musical groups, bible studies, church camps...
