Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri approved impositions of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the voters and Jackson County Legislature authorized the Prosecuting Attorney to contract with any not-for-profit community crime prevention organization for the purpose of preventing illegal drug use and drug-related offenses, if such organization has been in existence for a period of not less than five years; and,

WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature, through Ordinance 2336, heretofore authorized contracts with Old Northeast, Inc., and 49-63 Neighborhood Coalition, in the amounts of $30,000.00 and $20,000.00, respectively, to assist in the prevention of drug abuse and drug related offenses, which contracts were entered into December 5, 1994, by Jackson County through its Prosecuting Attorney; and,

WHEREAS, Old Northeast, Inc., and 49-63 Neighborhood Coalition have requested additional funding to provide additional services, in excess of those contemplated in the original Agreements; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriations be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to cover the increase in contracts with Old Northeast, Inc., and 49-63 Neighborhood Coalition:
