AN ORDINANCE appropriating $19,438.00 from the fund balance of the 2011 General Fund in acceptance of the reimbursement of court costs associated with certain municipal court violations for use by the Sheriff's Office.

Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1810.2.f, Jackson County Code, 1984, as allowed by section 488.5334 of the Revised Statues of Missouri, a defendant who pleads guilty or is found guilty of a violation of any alcohol or drug-related traffic offense in the Jackson County Municipal Court is ordered to reimburse the County certain costs associated with the arrest; and,
WHEREAS, the cumulative associated court costs reimbursed to the County under this provision since the court's inception in 2009 is $19,438.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff has requested that the funds be credited to the automobiles account; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the reimbursed funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2011 General Fund be and hereby is made:
