Body
WHEREAS, Don Bosco has been awarded private grants from the Kauffman Foundation, Hall Family Foundation and the Ina Calkins Board, in the aggregate amount of $250,000.00, to be used in connection with its Home Base Youth Services program; and,
WHEREAS, this program is designed to enhance efforts to prevent young people from using illegal drugs and participating in criminal behavior related to illegal drugs and takes place in neighborhoods which have suffered from criminal activity related to drugs; and,
WHEREAS, Don Bosco has requested matching funds in the amount of $25,000.00 to continue its program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Don Bosco for its Home Base Youth Services program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
