A RESOLUTION transferring $15,000.00 within the 1997 General Fund and awarding a contract for the upgrade of software for use by the Jackson County Election Board to Votec Corporation of San Diego, CA, at a cost to the County not to exceed $17,100.00, as a sole source purchase.

Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Votec Corporation of San Diego, CA, for the maintenance of software for use by the Jackson County Election Board; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that it not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Votec Corporation of San Diego, CA is the only supplier of upgrade on its own software; and,
WHEREAS, in order to award this contract a transfer within the 1997 General Fund is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends such transfer; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the
following transfer within the 1997 General Fund be and hereby is made:
