RESOLUTION #11754, May 12, 1997

INTRODUCED BY Fred Arbanas, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Westar Alarm Co. of Kansas City, MO, for the furnishing of security alarm monitoring and servicing for use by the Parks and Recreation Department; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that it not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Westar Alarm Co. of Kansas City, MO is the only vendor in the Kansas City metropolitan area capable of monitoring and servicing its own equipment, which has been installed at the Parks and Recreation Department's facilities; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Purchasing Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Westar Alarm Co. of Kansas City, MO for the furnishing of security alarm monitoring and servicing for the Parks and Recreation Department, in an amount not to exceed $11,415.01; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract thereby made...Attorney
