Body
WHEREAS, Benilde Hall's "Transitional Living" program is designed to promote balanced and responsible independent living in Jackson County for the recovering homeless through transitional housing and substance abuse treatment; and,
WHEREAS, Benilde Hall has requested $80,000.00 in anti-drug sales tax funds to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used as a local match to a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant in the amount of $502,700.00 for this program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with Benilde Hall for its "Transitional Living" program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
