Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County COMBAT Commission was empowered by Ordinances 1771, 1795, and 1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and,

WHEREAS, The Salvation Army was authorized funding through Resolution 11543, dated December 9, 1996, in the amount of $126,323.00 for its social detoxification program upon the recommendation of the COMBAT Commission; and,

WHEREAS, The Salvation Army has now proposed a change to the scope of services, contract rates, and duration of the contract authorized by Resolution 11543; and,

WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission members were polled by phone and a majority of the Commission's members have recommended acceptance of The Salvation Army's proposal; and,

WHEREAS, since the Agreement with The Salvation Army authorized by Resolution 11543 has not yet been executed, it is appropriate that the Resolution be partially rescinded as to the funding authorized for The Salvation Army and that a replacement Agreement, in the amount of $126,323, be executed; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter an Agreement with The Salvation Army, in a form approved by the County Counselor; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement...Attorney
