Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has a need to furnish "panic button" duress alarms to improve security for locations at the Downtown Kansas City Courthouse, the Eastern Jackson County Courthouse, 1315 Locust, and the Historic Truman Courthouse; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for these alarms to Secure Tech Systems of Irving, TX, at a cost to the County not to exceed $46,375.00, under the terms and conditions set forth in Cole County, Missouri Contract No. 2012-32, an existing government contract; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing is required to submit any purchase under an existing government contract which exceeds $25,000.00 to the Legislature for approval; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award to Secure Tech Systems, under the existing government contract due to the higher volume discounts offered to larger entities; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
