Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County Legislator Dennis Waits has represented the third district of Jackson County since 1986, and served as the legislature's chair during 2008 and 2011; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Waits has been an avid proponent of youth sporting activities and it is appropriate that the County demonstrate its esteem and gratitude for his years of dedicated service to the citizens of Jackson County by renaming the softball complex within the park located at 4400 S. Lee's Summit Road, in Independence, MO, the "Dennis R. Waits Softball Complex at Adair Park;" now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that in honor of Dennis R. Waits's commitment to public service and dedication to the common good, the softball complex within the County Park located at 4400 Lee's Summit Road, Independence, MO, should be and hereby is renamed as the "Dennis R. Waits Softball Complex at Adair Park."

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
