Body
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has awarded to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office a Justice Assistance (JAG) grant in the amount of $264,216.00, for the period October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2027; and,
WHEREAS, the County's portion of grant proceeds will be used for the partial funding of salary and benefits for two assistant prosecutors, one data/information analyst, and one diversion program manager/assistant prosecutor; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office will provide additional funds in the amount of $74,231.00 for unfunded portions of salaries and benefits; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within and appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2025 Grant Fund be and hereby are made:
