Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 3437, dated June 18, 1979, the legislature did authorize a lease agreement with the Missouri Department of Conservation for the construction and operation of a public shooting facility on the grounds of Landahl park for a period of forty (40) years; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17076, dated November 9, 2009 the legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute a termination agreement to the lease with the Missouri Department of Conservation with all buildings, fixtures and improvements relinquished to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Sheriff's office intends to utilize this shooting facility for law enforcement training and public conceal/carry weapon training; and,
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the shooting facility be reviewed by a qualified gun range safety consultant to provide an independent assessment of the range and recommendations for public safety improvements; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a Professional Services Agreement with R. Ward & Associates, Inc., of Ozark, MO, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, in an amount not to exceed $11,272.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
