Body
WHEREAS, Della Lamb Community Services Center has been awarded a grant from the Missouri Local Investment Commission in the amount of $187,467.00 to be used in connection with its Youth After-School program; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to provide low-income youth, ages 5-14, with positive alternative after-school programming structured through educational and recreational opportunities; and,
WHEREAS, additionally, the Youth After School program will provide adult role models/mentors to students to reinforce behaviors which are drug/violence preventive; and,
WHEREAS, Della Lamb has requested local matching funds from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Grant Match account in the amount of $35,000.00 for this program for the period of July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to enter into an agreement in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, incorporating the application attached hereto, with Della Lamb Community Services Center for its Youth After-School program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
