Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's office has been awarded a grant in the amount of $65,000.00 by the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas City, Missouri, to assist the Board in informing, educating, and treating the citizens of Kansas City and Jackson County who have been touched by the effects of methamphetamine; and,

WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a $50,000.00 match; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney proposes to utilize the largest portion of this grant and matching funds to retain County Court Services, Inc., of Kansas City, MO, to provide MATRIX-model treatment to methamphetamine using clients, in an amount not to exceed $110,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney proposes to use the remainder of the funds to retain a consultant to perform an evaluation of the Methamphetamine Specific Treatment Program; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the Board of Police Commissioners and Agreement with County Court Services, Inc., provide suitable mechanisms by which to implement the agreement and understanding of the parties to these arrangements; and,
