Body
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has awarded the Jackson County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force ("Task Force") a grant in the amount of $312,515.00 for use during the period of July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006 which requires a cash match from Jackson County in the amount of $100,031.00 for a total cost to the County not to exceed $412,546.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Task Force has requested that the County Executive execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for the disposal of contraband materials as part of the grant project; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary so that the proceeds of the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force Grant and required matching funds can be placed in the proper spending accounts; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends acceptance of the grant and said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within and appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby are made:
