Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 9016, dated November 12, 1991, the County did enter into an agreement with the Missouri Department of Conservation to manage fisheries at Lake Jacomo, Blue Springs Lake, Longview Lake, and Prairie Lee Lake; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 21262, dated May 1, 2023, the Legislature did authorize Addendum #1 to renew this agreement, to allow the Missouri Department of Conservation to conduct fish surveys of the lakes, and restock fish from its hatcheries around the state to provide fishing opportunities to citizens as part of the Community Assistance Program Agreement; and,

WHEREAS, additionally, the Community Assistance Program enables Jackson County to be eligible for grant funding assistance from the State of Missouri to improve access to lakes and rivers; and,

WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Conservation has approved additional grant funding under the Community Assistance Program Agreement in the amount of $255,130.00 to make improvements to the Brown Recreation Area boat ramp located at the Blue River Parkway, with the Department of Conservation providing 75 percent of the estimated expenditure and the County providing the 25 percent match; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of the Parks + Rec Department recommends the execution of Addendum #2 to the Community Assistance Program Agreement with the Missouri Department of Conservation; and,
