Body
WHEREAS, Jewel O. Busch was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and has since lived in Alaska, New York, Ohio, New Mexico, and Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, as a retired teacher, Jewel believes that education is paramount in a person's life and this positive influence has been reflected in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, some of whom are well respected individuals in various areas such as law, education, medicine, and the ministry; and,
WHEREAS, Jewel treasures her memories and loves to discuss the many changes that have transpired in science, transportation, and technology that she has witnessed; and,
WHEREAS, Jewel has a wonderful sense of humor, a tremendous interest in life, and a genuinely kind and loving spirit; and,
WHEREAS, Jewel makes her home at the Regency Care Center where she receives wonderful care from a kind staff; and,
WHEREAS, the Center provides sing-a-long sessions in which Jewel enjoys participating; and,
WHEREAS, Jewel also enjoys reading poetry and reciting Bible passages; and,
WHEREAS, Jewel and her husband, the late Charles H. Busch, had seven children, four of whom are still living: Jewel Busch-Smith of Fairbanks, Alaska, Janet Busch-Staples of St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Audrey Busch-Turner of Los Angeles, and Rosemary Busch of Blue Springs, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, a family birthday dinner is planned for Jewel at the Regency Care Center; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Jewel O. Busch upon her 106th birthday.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
