Body
WHEREAS, Truman Medical Center, Inc.'s "Teen Moms'' program is a comprehensive mentoring program which provides information on parenting, prenatal care, sexually transmitted diseases and substance abuse for indigent pregnant teenagers and their families; and,
WHEREAS, the Teen Moms program is supported by a grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, in the amount of $285,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, TMC has requested anti-drug sales tax funds in the amount of $72,217.00 to provide a portion of a required local match, with the remainder to be provided by other agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference, with TMC; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
