Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri ("City") has requested fee simple title to property along the Prospect Bridge that is an integral part of the City's flood protection project; and,
WHEREAS, the property in question is excess right-of-way from the County's Prospect Bridge Road Project; and,
WHEREAS, article II, ยง 16.25 of the Jackson County Charter authorizes the Legislature to transfer County property to cities upon terms it deems advantageous to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends the conveyance on the terms proposed by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed conveyance is in the best interests of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached conveyance instrument in favor of the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
