Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution #10418, adopted July 25, 1994, the Jackson County Legislature adopted a plan for the temporary and permanent alleviation of the overcrowding of the Jackson County Detention Center as its response to the April 28, 1994, Order of the United States District Court or the Western District of Missouri, Western Division, in the case of Rahn Hall, et al, Plaintiffs, vs.
Jackson County Department of Corrections, et al, Defendants, No. 84-1200-CV-W-1; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Court's Order of February 2, 1995, the defendants, which include this Legislature, have been ordered to submit a revised response to the Court's Order of April 28, 1994;
and,

WHEREAS, the County Counselor and County Executive have worked and consulted with the Legislature regarding the status of the case and the specific facts and circumstances set out in d tail in the attached document, entitled Defendants' Combined Revised Response to Order of April 28, 1994 and Motion to Amend Order of April 28, 1994 and have recommended that the Legislature adopt and approve same; and,

WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of the Legislature to communicate to the Court its support of the revised plan set forth in the attached document so as to immediately and permanently relieve t e prior overcrowding of the Jackson County Detention Center; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that it does hereby approve and ratify all of the terms and conditions of the attached Defendants' Combined Revised Response to the Court's Order of April 28, 1994 ...
