Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 01-2003 for the Bynum Spur Road Culvert Replacement Project, No. 2460; and,

WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon, bids from the following:

Progressive Construction Systems, Inc. $68,801.85
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO

Redford Construction, Inc. $71,763.80
Raymore, MO

John Massman Contracting Company $75,300.00
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO

and,


WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Redford Construction, Inc. of Raymore, MO, for the reason that, while not the lowest bidder, it has submitted the lowest and best bid in accordance with the attached recapitulation and analysis; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that a contract on Bid No. PW 01-2003 in the actual amount of $71,763.80, be awarded to Redford Construction, Inc. of Raymore, MO, as the lowest and best bidder; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to adjust the contract line item quantities provided that, in doing so, there is no additional financial obligation to the County; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract.
