Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of the sales tax for seven (7) years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature through Ordinance 2373 authorized local matching funds to government and private grants; and,
WHEREAS, Don Bosco has received grants from the Children's Trust Fund, Oppenstein Foundation, United Way, Missouri Arts Council, and Kansas City Community and Neighborhood Services, in the aggregate amount of $140,820, for Don Bosco's "5X5 Overnight for Teens" program; and,
WHEREAS, Don Bosco has requested matching funds in the amount of $19,240.00 to implement its program; and,
WHEREAS, this is the first year for this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends funding in the amount of $19,240.00; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement with Don Bosco; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
