Body
WHEREAS, Riley Dunn, who graduated 8th grade with honors from Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic School in Lee's Summit, Missouri, recently won the youth division of the Roland Atelier Organ Fest, a national organ music competition judged by world-renowned organists; and,

WHEREAS, Riley had less than six months of organ lessons when he took the stage to play "The Exodus Song" at the Doubletree Hotel in Los Angeles for the national competition, which he won; and,

WHEREAS, Riley's teacher, Valinda Smith, said "He's a prodigy," noting that many people take lessons for years before being able to play with Riley's skill; and,

WHEREAS, Riley took basic piano lessons when he was younger but after, stopping the lessons a few years ago, continued to play every day and develop his ability to play by ear; and,

WHEREAS, Riley is an honor student, plays piano in the school band, and is the accompanist for the advanced choir at Our Lady of Presentation, where he is also an Altar Server and Lector; and,

WHEREAS, Riley participated in the Duke University Talent Identification Program for academically gifted students, is a member of KC Regional Junior Cotilion, received the 2009 President's National Volunteer Service Award for 50+ hours of community service, volunteers at the St. James soup kitchen and at various KC Police Athletic League events, and enjoys music, fishing, soccer, and swimming; and,

WHEREAS, Riley's future plans are to attend Rockhurst High School in the fall and then attend college to study marine biology; and,

WHEREAS, Riley's parents, Kevin and Susan, join in Riley's celebration of his National Organ Title; now therefore,
