Body
WHEREAS, when the City of Independence upgraded the bridge crossing the Little Blue River on Little Blue Parkway, it was necessary to extend a portion of the Little Blue Trace Trail beyond park property boundaries; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stevinson, owners of Stevinson Auto and Electrical School, are the owners of the .15 acre parcel of real property in which a small portion of the Little Blue Trace Trail is located, which is legally described in the attached Exhibit A; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Stevinson have agreed to donate this parcel to Jackson County for use in the trail; and,

WHEREAS, there is no expectation of the receipt of any certain specific direct economic benefits within the power of the County, to bestow directly or indirectly, which otherwise might not be forthcoming to Stevinson Auto & Electrical School Company; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature, under article II, section 16 (21) of the Jackson County Charter, is empowered to acquire property for County purposes, and the Director of Parks + Rec recommends accepting the said donation; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the donation of the .15 acre of real property described in the attached Exhibit A be and hereby is accepted; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature expresses its appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stevenson for this donation; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to give effect to the intent of this Resolution.
