Body
WHEREAS, under existing ordinance of Jackson County, the Director of the Parks Department has discretion to authorize implementation of plans to manage wildlife population in Jackson County Parks; and,
WHEREAS, the current deer population of Jackson County Parks is at least four times that recommended by Wildlife experts, including the Missouri Department of Conservation; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Conservation has studied the deer population problem in Jackson County and has recommended to the Parks Department the implementation of certain management practices to control the deer population to insure humane treatment of the animals and protection of the public and the environment; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Director of Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department is encouraged and supported in her efforts to implement a deer management plan for Jackson County Parks forwith.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
