Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit West High School football team won the Missouri Class 5 State Championship, beating the previously undefeated Webster Groves Statesmen 44 to 21; and,
WHEREAS, the Titans were led in their victory by Head Coach Royce Boehm; and,
WHEREAS, this is the second state title for the Titans, having won a previous Missouri State Championship in 2007; and,
WHEREAS, the Titans completed their season with a 14 and 1 record, breaking the Statesmen's 27-game winning streak; and,
WHEREAS, in the hard fought game, the Titans offense was nearly unstoppable, totaling 508 yards compared to just 193 yards for the Statesmen; and,
WHEREAS, the Titans won their title November 26, 2010, at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, MO; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Lee's Summit West High School Football Titans on their outstanding showing and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
