Body
WHEREAS, it was with great sorrow that family and friends learned of the death of Mary Ann Ewert; and,

WHEREAS, Mary Ann was born on July 28, 1944, in Coffeyville, KS, and grew up in Abilene, KS; and,

WHEREAS, she attended the University of Kansas and Kansas State University and later received her undergraduate degree from Mid-America Nazarene College; and,

WHEREAS, Mary Ann served as past president of the High Grove Elementary School PTA; and,

WHEREAS, one of her great accomplishments was co-founding the Grandview Association for Gifted Education and the Together Grandview Community Task Force for drug abuse prevention, coordinating numerous drug free activities for students of Grandview High School; and,

WHEREAS, in addition, she served on the board of directors for the Missouri Association of Community Task Forces; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann was the deserving recipient of the Grandview Citizen of the Year award in 1989; and,

WHEREAS, she was a member of the Grandview Assembly of God Church; and,

WHEREAS, Mary Ann is survived by her husband Dr. Dick Ewert, five children and their spouses, Brent and Tammy Ewert, Annette and Bill Cates, Kurt and Allison Ewert, Amy and Kevin Boehringer, and Jacob Ewert, and seven grandchildren, Kayla, Amber, Austin, Kelsey, Ryan, Emily, and Abby; and,

WHEREAS, Mary Ann will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby extends its deepest sympathy to family and friends of Mary Ann Ewert, upon the occasion of her death.
