INTRODUCED BY Dixie M. Flynn, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, under the outstanding leadership of Coach Bob Glasgow, the Oak Grove Panthers wrestling team won the 1998 Missouri State Class 1A-2A Wrestling Championship; and,

WHEREAS, accomplishments of the team include winning the North Kansas City Tournament, Missouri River Valley Conference Tournament, Missouri River Valley Conference dual championship, and District 6 championship, the Panthers' ninth consecutive district title; and,

WHEREAS, Oak Grove has won state wrestling championships in 1984, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, and 1998, making it the third team in Missouri wrestling annals to achieve four consecutive state titles; and,

WHEREAS, the Panthers have also won 41 individual state championships in the last 15 years, setting a record of more individual state titles than any school in Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, two of the six four-time state champions in Missouri wrestling history are Matt Infranca and Brett Fry of Oak Grove; and,

WHEREAS, nine of Oak Grove's 1998 wrestlers have received NCAA Division I athletic scholarships; and,

WHEREAS, this year's team qualified ten wrestlers for the state tournament, with two individual state champions, Bobbe Lowe and Aaron Tolen; and,

WHEREAS, those wrestlers qualifying for the state tournament were:
Derek Twente 26 wins, 14 losses
Bobbe Lowe 31 wins, 3 losses; state champion
Craig Emry 29 wins, 11 losses
Robby Beebe 37 wins, 8 losses; 4th place state finish
Clint Parks 26 wins, 1 4 losses
Jamey Alexander 31 wins, 14 losses; 5th place state finish
Aaron Tolen 33 wins, 4 losses; state champion
Aaron Williams 23 wins, 19 losses
