Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13428, dated November 13, 2000, the Legislature did award a contract to County Court Services of Kansas City, Missouri, to provide drug treatment services to clients of the Prosecuting Attorney's Drug Court program, at a cost not to exceed $576,284.00, for a one-year period; and,

WHEREAS, subsequent addenda authorized by the Legislature have extended the contract to September 30, 2002, and increased the maximum authorized expenditure to $1,518,684; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 14348, dated October 21, 2002, the Legislature did award a new one-year contract for the provision of these same services to Addiction Recovery Services of Kansas City, MO, at a cost not to exceed $628,000; and,

WHEREAS, subsequent events have revealed the need to continue the contract with County Court Services for a transaction period through December 31, 2002, to ensure continuing in the delivery of services and a smooth change-over of providers; and,

WHEREAS, the cost of continuing County Court Services' contract, in an amount not to exceed $150,000, will be funded through a reduction in the allocation to Addiction Recovery Services; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Fifth Addendum to Agreement with County Court Services, and First Addendum to Agreement with Addiction Recovery Services adequately summarize the rights and obligations ...
