Body
WHEREAS, in connection with the O'Donnell Road Bridge Replacement, Project No. 2403, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids pursuant to Bid No. PW-01-2008; and,

WHEREAS, he has received eight bids thereon, with the lowest three bids as follows:

Houf Contractors, Inc. $542,921.80
Mexico, MO

Brookfield Box and Bridge LLC $596,749.75
Brookfield, MO

Widel Construction, Inc. $626,013.75
Blackwater, MO

and,


WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that award be made to Harry F. Houf & Sons Contractors, Inc., of Mexico, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, in the event that line item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Director of Public Works be authorized to approve said line item adjustments to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works, and that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to approve line item adjustments which may become necessary under this contract to the extent there is no additional cost to the County...
