Body
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to cover costs associated with the litigation of claims arising out of the Jackson County Detention Center Annex project; and,
WHEREAS, the County Counselor has expended this amount of money in preparation and defense of arbitration claims; and,
WHEREAS, this appropriation of $142,838.00 reflects amounts owed to Seigfreid, Bingham & Levy in the amount of $25,585.00 and $117,253.00 owed to the firm of CCL as the County's construction expert; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation as an amendment to her recommended 1999 Jackson County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 1999 Criminal Justice Improvement Fund be and hereby is made:
