Body
WHEREAS, Bettie Yahn-Kramer became director of the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department in 1992, after holding the positions of greenhouse supervisor, superintendent of park maintenance for the central division, and assistant director; and,

WHEREAS, Bettie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in horticulture from the University of Missouri at Columbia and has attended the Pacific Revenue Sources Management School and the Park Planning and Maintenance School, and has been a presenter at local and regional workshops, as well as state and national conferences; and,

WHEREAS, Bettie serves on the Board of the Missouri Park and Recreation Association (MPRA), and has served in all elected executive positions and on various committees; and,

WHEREAS, she has also served in all elected administrative positions of the Park and Natural Resource Management Section, on the Council of Affiliate Presidents, and as secretary of the Great Lakes Regional Council; and,

WHEREAS, Bettie particularly distinguished herself when she received the MPRA Fellow Award in 1998, and the Parks and Natural Resource Management Section Distinguished Service Award in 1995; and,

WHEREAS, Bettie currently serves as Chair of the University of Missouri School of Natural Resources Advisory Council; and,

WHEREAS, Bettie was also appointed to the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health, the Truman Farm Home Board of Consultants, and the Missouri Department of Conservation Stewardship Advisory Committee; and,
