Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3391, dated August 4, 2003, the County did accept a grant in the amount of $294,750 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the Jail Diversion by Law Enforcement Crisis Intervention Team programs, which provides mental health treatment services to a client population as a jail diversionary measure; and,
WHEREAS, the County has received a proposal from Research Mental Health Services to provide direct services in connection with this program; and,
WHEREAS, under this proposal, these services would include initial assessment of clients, case management, and other behavioral health services; and,
WHEREAS, additionally under this proposal, Research will match the County's $45,000.00 payment with in-kind services of the same value; and,
WHEREAS, the acceptance of this proposal is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement adequately sets out the rights and obligations of the parties; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Agreement with Research Mental Health Services; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
