Body
WHEREAS, Pastor Bob Spradling has been the pastor of Maywood Baptist Church in Independence, MO, since 1984; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Bob began his pastoring ministry in 1968 while a college student at Southeast Missouri State University; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Bob earned a Masters of Theology from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1974; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Bob has led the Citywide Prayer Movement in Kansas City since 1994, is the Co-Chair of the Prayer Committee with Pastor LeRoy Sullivan for both the Luis Palau Campaign and the Billy Graham Crusade, is the Secretary of the Northwest Communities Development Corporation, and served as Acting Secretary of the Fairmount-Carlisle 353 Tax Abatement Board; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Bob recently received the 2008 Citizen of the Year Award form the Heartland Community Foundation, joining three other community leaders receiving this award; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Bob has been married to his wife, Toni, for thirty years, and they have three adult children, John, Emily and Rebekah; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and congratulates Pastor Bob Spradling for his outstanding dedication and service to the community throughout the years and extends best wishes for his future endeavors.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
