Body
WHEREAS, the County owns a tract of land adjacent to, but which is not a part of, the Harry S Truman Sports complex, lying generally east of I-435, south of I-70, and north of Brookfield (Stadium) Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the County has been approached by Resolute Development Co., LLC, about the potential development of this tract; and,
WHEREAS, Resolute has indicated it is willing to produce a real estate development plan for the tract and work to attract a project to the tract, at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange, Resolute has requested that the County agree not to consider any other plans or proposals for the development of this tract for a one-year period; and,
WHEREAS, it is understood by all that, if the development plan recommended calls for the sale of the tract to a private party, that can only be accomplished by an open and public bid; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Consulting Agreement adequately sets out the rights and obligations of the parties with regard to this arrangement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Consulting Agreement with Resolute Development Co., LLC.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
