A RESOLUTION expressing the intent of the Legislature that any implementation of any deferred compensation plan or future enhancement of such plan should be made available to all County employees.

Body
WHEREAS, the equal and fair treatment of all County employees is necessary for the morale of the county workforce and in the best interests of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, deferred compensation plans are a primary method by which Americans and county employees save for their futures; and,
WHEREAS, any such implementation of a deferred compensation plan or enhancement thereof is subject to the availability of funds in the county's budget, and,
WHEREAS, the County Legislature is desirous of encouraging fair treatment of all county employees and that those county employees save for their futures; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that it is the express intent of this Legislature that, subject to available monies within the county budget, whenever implementation of a deferred compensation plan or any enhancement of such plan is considered for any classification or division of the county workforce a like offering is extended to all other county employees.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
