Body
WHEREAS, Move Up's Fighting Back program builds the capacity of community and youth serving organizations to enable them to implement programming designed to reduce the use of alcohol and marijuana by Jackson County youth; and,

WHEREAS, the Fighting Back program is supported by a grant from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, in the amount of $100,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a $100,000.00 local match; and,

WHEREAS, Move Up has requested anti-drug sales tax funds in the amount of $50,000.00, to serve as a portion of the local match to this grant; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Cooperative Agreement with Move Up for this grant program at a cost to the County not to exceed $50,000.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
