Body

WHEREAS, Lisa Gentleman is a Deputy County Counselor for Jackson County and was recently selected for the Honorable H. Michael Coburn Community Service Award; and,

WHEREAS, the Honorable H. Michael Coburn Community Service Award is given to an attorney who exhibits unsurpassed service to the community through the same benevolent assistance and encouragement given by the late Judge Coburn; and,

WHEREAS, Lisa is a member of the Legal Aid of Western Missouri's Justice for All Campaign Committee and LAWMO's Board of Trustees; and,

WHEREAS, she is currently serving as the Vice President of the Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance ("L.E.A.P.") Foundation and for the past five years has chaired their main fund-raising event which benefits the children of Operation Breakthrough; and,

WHEREAS, for the past two years Lisa has served as a board member and chair of the fund-raising golf tournament for the Women's Foundation; and,

WHEREAS, she has also served on the American Lung Association's Board of Directors and is currently the Board Secretary; and,

WHEREAS, Lisa has received many awards and recognitions during her career tenure including the Outstanding Leadership Award from the AWL, the Leadership Award from the Legal Aid of Western Missouri, the President's Award from L.E.A.P., the KCMBA President's Award, the Distinguished Community Service Award from Mayor Kay Barnes and was an honoree at the Legal Aid of Western Missouri's President's Recognition Dinner; and,

WHEREAS, in addition to Lisa's exemplary leadership in service-orientated activities, she is also a very talented attorney, handling over twenty jury trials and numerous oth...
