WHEREAS, by Resolution 12794, dated June 25, 1999, the Legislature did request the County Auditor to audit all financial transactions and accounts relating to the management, construction, and operation of the Jackson County Detention Center Annex project, including the Population Control Management Program and including all proposed expenditures recommended or contemplated in connection with pending claims; and,
WHEREAS, by this same Resolution, the Missouri State Auditor was requested to provide whatever assistance she deems appropriate in this audit; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature now desires that that portion of the audit dealing with the Population Control Management Program be conducted by the County Auditor and her staff only, without the assistance of the Missouri State Auditor; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Auditor be and hereby is directed to conduct that portion of the audit requested by Resolution 12794 as concerns the Population Control Management Program using only the resources of her office; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Missouri State Auditor be and hereby is requested not to assist in that portion of the audit requested by Resolution 12794 as concerns the Population Control Management Program.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
