INTRODUCED BY Terry Young, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, Kristen Cook, a Raytown High School junior, has accomplished a feat few others have experienced; and,
WHEREAS, Kristen took the SAT test in January of 1999 and was recently notified that she received a perfect score of 1,600; and,
WHEREAS, her score signifies that she did better than 99.7% of the 2 million students who tested; and,
WHEREAS, Kristen has carried a 4.0 gpa for 2.5 years at Raytown High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society and the school's academic-competition team; and,
WHEREAS, Kristen is also a member of concert choir and the Key Club; and,
WHEREAS, Kristen does volunteer work for Raytown's early childhood education program, and she is also a member of her church youth group; and,
WHEREAS, Kristen has also taken the ACT and received a score of 34, which places her in the 99th percentile nationwide; and,
WHEREAS, Kristen plans to pursue a career in physics or engineering; and,
WHEREAS, Kristen deserves the highest of praise for her accomplishments and for striving for academic and personal excellence; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Kristen Cook upon receiving a perfect score on her SAT.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
